This Friday, the 23rd, the UT animal rights organization, Students Against Cruelty to Animals, will be having a fundraising dinner. We will be serving a delicious vegan meal for $5 at the House of Commons Co-op starting at 6:30. So come on by and grab some dinner!
All money that we receive will go to Thanksgiving outreach this November. We will be handing out free mini thanksgiving dinners to people on campus in an effort to encourage them to try out vegetarian food this holiday season.
With the rest of the money, we will "adopt" as many turkeys as we can from Farm Sanctuary. Each year they hold a turkey adoption event to help them raise the money for food and the vet bills for the turkeys they save. When we adopt a turkey, we are essentially sponsoring them and helping to pay for their food and vet for the year.
Check it out here: http://www.adoptaturkey.org/
The menu consists of :
Vegan Manicotti, salad, breadsticks, and potentially garlic/sundried tomato green beans and chocolate mousse or cake.
Get some great food for cheap and help animals at the same time.
You can even take it to go!
