There was a great article printed in the STATESMAN on 12/18/09, that chronicles a courageous man who released photos of baby elephants inhumanely treated by trainers. You can read the article and comment below:

Of course, Ringling and their associates claim the pics are taken out of context. How can pics be taken out of context??? A picture is worth a thousand words, and let us write a letter to the editor (in preferably less than a thousand words) that tells the truth of these pics.

my friend said my letter was in the STATESMAN on December 31...I tried to find it online but couldn't locate it...did anybody come across it?
I wrote a letter to the editor and I just saw the e-mail they sent me for printing verification. Damn! I called this morning and left my information, so hopefully they will print it!!! ;)
Thx for posting this important story, Timothy. I'm trying to add my comment but their website keeps bouncing me around. I'll keep trying. :)
I have two postings that basically say the same thing...damn glitch at the Statesman website...oh, well, maybe it's worth repeating ;)))
I posted a comment too. I am usually not so great at posting comments online but this story is just too heartbreaking not to comment on.
Thanks for telling us about it!
I just posted a comment. It looks like mine is the only one so far. Please post comments so the Statesman is encouraged to cover more stories like this.
