Hey all you food snobs that think vegan food can't be as delicious as it is ethical: suck on this!
Vegan chef Chloe Coscarelli took the top prize last night on Food Network's Cupcake Wars! Coscarelli went head-to-head against bakers using animal-based ingredients (butter, eggs, etc.) and beat them all round after round, eventually taking home the win for the night.

Check out a blow-by-blow recap of the episode here: Quarrygirl.com Cupcake Wars Recap.
This is a big deal! Of course, we know that eating vegan food does not mean sacrificing taste (although we'd do it anyhow, because it's the right thing to do). Now, millions of people got to see vegan baking leave "conventional" baking in the dust on national television.
Don't let this victory go unnoticed. Spread the word. Use this opportunity to show the non-vegans in your life that even those with the most refined palates agree: vegan food rocks!
It's really quite simple. Vegan cupcakes:
- Taste amazing
- Are better for you
- Don't require exploiting animals
- Are better for the environment
What could be easier?

I LOVE baking - and cupcakes are the most fun!
Think of all the people that will try making cupcakes next time without the eggs and dairy. It is a small step but I think it is an important one.
