About Me
Hi Everyone - I'm the unofficial leader of Action for Animals. That happens when you're the oldest member of this group. So, yes, I've been around since the beginning of AFA back in the 90's.
I'm training to participate in the Austin Marathon 2010 on Feb. 15th. I do this kind of endurance events because I want to show that a vegan can run a marathon. My goal is to do the Austin Triathlon later this year. We know, you know, that folks still think that being a vegan is unheathy and that no vegan would ever have the strength to run 26 miles or do a triathlon. I'm happy to prove them wrong.

This was unexpected and has put a smile on my face for the whole week. The Cove, the documentary about the yearly slaughter of dolphins in a cove on the Japanese coast, received great critical reviews but its subject matter made it disappear from movie houses very quickly upon release. This is an awful tragedy that did not have to happen. It's not the first time, or the last. Tigers turn on their trainers (remember Sigfried and Roy?), bears bite back, and chimps attack. Ernest, I am sorry to say I went to the marathon event but I walked around an hour and never found any of you! I went to Little City and to the steps of the capitol. Wish I had someone's cell phone while I was there! Sorry I missed you! Joy
