A proposed Texas bill to regulate dog/cat breeders in Texas is finally making it's way through the legislative process. Next Tuesday, March 15, a bill to regulate breeders with more than 11 dogs/cats will have a hearing before a legislative committee at the state capitol.

If you want to support this bill, then you can do 2 very simple things:

  1. Show up and sign a card (to show your support) then you can leave. It's that easy.
  2. You can also email committee members asking them to support this bill.

Here's a link with info for the committee hearing. You can show up as early as 8 am, and parking is free for 2 hours at the capitol complex. On the linked page, you will find emails for the committee members. Please email them today and ask them to "support HB 1451." That is all you have to write in your email. It's that easy.

This bill has the support of the Texas Vet Medical Assoc. and is supported by the Democratic and Republican platform. Texas breeders are completely unregulated. They can breed as many dogs/cats as they want for years on end.

Hope you can all make it.
