Hi Everyone. My favorite charity is Action for Animals. But, my second favorite charity is local animal sanctuary Sunny Day Farms. You'll get to see why on May 28, when they host their Summer Kick-off gathering.
This is a vegan potluck and cookout at the sanctuary on Saturday, May 28th from 11am-4:30pm. Here's your chance to visit with all the animals Brooke has rescued from slaughter houses and factory farms. There you'll find 3 horses (2 blind, one lame), cows, a dozen pigs (full size and pigmy), a dozen goats, chickens chickens chickens, ducks, turkeys, and many many more. All together there are about 300 animals on the farm. Come say hi and learn a bit about how the animals came to be at SDF.
Come for an hour or so or all day. See event details and driving directions here. Please keep in mind that SDF is not a petting zoo. You and your children will be able to touch and say hi to most of the animals and you'll be able to take lots of pics but there will be no animal rides. :)
SDF is a sanctuary for farm animals founded and run by Brooke Chavez. She's worked tirelessly for over ten years to open it.
