Action for Animals Austin

About Me

I'm a former hydrgeologist retired from the Texas Commission of Environmental Quality.  Since I've "retired" I've become active in animal welfare issues.  I protest the Petland in Georgetown where I live, and am active in the Texas Humane Legislation Network (THLN).  I like THLN because they are the only group fighting on a large scale for better animal laws in Texas, and the laws are where things begin to get better for the animals.

I have 3 dogs (Daisy is one - see profile photo) and 2 cats.

My favorite issue to fight against is puppy mills.  I worked at the puppy mill bust in Kaufmann TX earlier this year as a volunteer for United Animal Nations (UAN).  In 2010 I plan to work hard w/THLN to help pass the puppy mill licensing law which didn't make it in the 2009 legislative session.

It's frustrating to live in Williamson County. . . . a lot of the prototypical conservative Texas good ol' boys around here.  Gak!

Last thing I purchased for a friend:  a ticket to see 101 Dalmations at the Long Center.  If you mentioned Animals Trustees of Austin when you bought the tickets, part of the proceeds went to ATA!  Yay!
