I'll admit it. One of my favorite things to do is sit down with a friend and have a quality drink. My favorite drink is beer, preferably Lonestar unless I want to get fancy and order a Dos Equis with lime. Or if I'm feeling extra celebratory, I'll have a vodka and cranberry. It's all about the company and the atmosphere, and, of course, the delicious taste in my mouth while I discuss animal rights activism and the future of vegan eating in America. These topics are my favorite to discuss and I want to meet more people who, like me, enjoy a nice drink while we talk about things that matter.
Meet Austin Vegan Drinks. A project of VegAustin.com and Compassion Over Killing, Austin Vegan Drinks is a social crowd of like-minded people who are either longtime vegans, vegetarians, or people who are just a little veg-curious! Whatever your reason for caring is, Austin Vegan Drinks is about having good times and doing a little networking while you're at it. We want Austin to know how the veg-friendly community is growing like tasty fields of malted barley.

That is rockin' good news that it was such a successful event. Chris and I were so bummed that she was too sick to go! Next time...
Thanks to AFA's help for getting the word out about Austin Vegan Drinks! We had a really successful first event, with about 30 attendees, lots of free prizes and vegan pizza! I hope you'll make it to our next one in February, location TBA.
