vegan bakesale haiti

Join fellow Austinites in a vegan bakesale benefit for the people of Haiti on Sunday, January 24 from 12-4PM at Ten Thousand Villages (1317 South Congress). Consider bringing some baked vegan goods or buying some from the table! All proceeds will go to Food for Life Global (FFL), the world's largest nonprofit vegan food relief organization.

According to news reports, the Haiti earthquake killed over 111,000 people and left 609,000 people homeless. The U.N. reports that these survivors are living in squalid tent cities injured, hungry and thirsty. According to the FFL Haiti Relief coordinator: "FFL can serve more than 100 meals in a crisis like this for as little as $25. So your dollars will go a long way."

So please donate your baking skills and time right here in Austin so we can help this kind organization deliver the help that Haiti children and families desperately need. If you can't make it on Sunday, please consider donating to Food for Life Global on their website here.

Wow, $700.00!!! That's great!!!

The bakesale for Haiti was a big success! News 8 showed up and interviewed the organizers and the Austin360 blog mentioned it beforehand. By the end of the sale, we raised over $700 for Haiti food relief. Great things can happen when the community comes together for a great cause!
